Sigurborg Sigfúsdóttir was born in 1833 in N. Þingeyjarsýsla. She died in 1900 in New Iceland.
Spouse: Stefán Þorsteinsson b. in Vopnafjarðarhreppur in N. Múlasýsla on October 12, 1833, d. March 15, 1893.
Children: 1. Sigríður b. 1862 2. Þórey b. 1867 3. Steinunn b. 1873.
They came west in 1876 and spent the first winter near Gimli. They moved to the Hnausa Settlement a year later. They lived there four years but moved in 1881 out to Mikley where they lived a few years. The road then led them to Selkirk for two years and then to Winnipeg for a number of years. They returned to their land in the Hnausa Settlement and lived there a short time but then moved from there to the Geysir Settlement and lived with their daughter, Þórey, and her husband, Gestur Oddleifsson, until their dying days.
