Einar Einarsson was born in 1866 in S. Þingeyjarsýsla. The family took the name Grandy in the west. He died in Seattle in 1937.
Spouse: Katrín Sigurðardóttir b. in N. Múlasýsla in 1860.
Children: 1. Anna 2. Arngrímur 3. Stefán Sigurður 4. Kristbjörg 5. Einar.
Einar came west in 1883 to Winnipeg, Manitoba with his widowed mother Ágústa Magnúsdóttir and his brother Magnús. Einar moved south the same year to the Garðar Settlement in North Dakota and took land. Katrín came west in 1887. Einar and Katrín moved in 1906 to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan and took land north of Wynyard. Einar gave land for a school which was called Grandyskóli.
