Eiríkur Þorbergsson fæddist í S. Þingeyjarsýslu árið 1868. Hann fór ókvæntur og barnlaus vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1910. Bróðir hans, Andrés fór vestur þangað tveimur árum seinna með sína fjölskyldu.

Andrés Þorbergsson: Born in S. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1863. Spouse: Pálína Guðmundsdóttir born in the same sýsla in 1872. Children: 1) Þorbergur b. 1902 2) Sigríður b. 1905 3) Guðrún b. 1909. They emigrated straight to Baldur in the Argyle Settlement in 1912. They later moved to Riverton, MB.
