Sigurður Pálsson fæddist í Skagafjarðarsýslu árið 1863. Dáinn í N. Dakota 30. nóvember, 1935. Maki: Sesselja Magnúsdóttur f. 1. júní, 1849 í Dalasýslu, d. 6. nóvember, 1940. Börn: 1. Jóhanna Sigurður fór vestur með Jóhanni Hallsyni og fjölskyldu árið 1876 til  Nýja Íslands. Fór þaðan 1878 með Jóhanni til N. Dakota og nam Sigurður land í Hallsonbyggð. Sesselja fór vestur …
