Sigmundur Jóhannsson was born in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1857. He died in Elfros, Saskatchewan in 1918. Spouse: 1883 Sigurbjörg Friðriksdóttir b. 1864, d. 1946 in Elfros. Children: 1. Ingibjörg b. 1887 2. Friðrik d. 1956 3. Jóhann Arnór d. 1973. They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1894 with Ingibjörg. They settled in the Brown Settlement in Manitoba in 1897.
