Anna Soffía Pétursdóttir was born in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1815. She died in the Víðirnes Settlement in New Iceland in 1899. Widow. She came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba with her children, Sigríður Sveinsdóttir, 34 years of age an Skúli Sveinsson, 28 years of age, in 1883. Another child, Þorvaldur Sveinsson emigrated west in 1881.  They lived in New Iceland.
