Einar Þorkelsson fæddist í Húnavatnssýslu árið 1854. Mak: Sigurlaug Pétursdóttir f. 1857 í Húnavatnssýslu. Börn: 1. Árni f. 1883 2. Björg f. 1885, d. í Winnipeg 22. júní, 1900, tvíburi 3. Þorkell f. 1885 4. Sigríður f. 1886. Þau fluttu vestur um haf til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1887 og settust að í Fljótsbyggð í Nýja Íslandi.
