Ingigerður Anna Jónsdóttir was born on October 14, 1875 in Strandasýsla. She came west with her foster parents, Hjalti Hjaltason and Margrét Helgadóttir. They settled in the Thingvalla Settlement in Saskatchewan where Ingigerður lived a number of years.  She later moved to Winnipeg. More information is needed about her life in the west.
