Sigurður Andrésson was born in Barðastrandarsýsla in 1841. He took the last name Anderson in the west. Spouse: Hildur Jósefína Jónsdóttir b. 1838 in Snæfellsnessýsla. Children: 1. Jón Hjaltalín b. 1871 2. Hjalti b. 1875. They came west to Manitoba in 1887 and were first living in Winnipeg. From there, they moved to the Hólar settlement in Saskatchewan.
