They came west in 1898 with Jón Jónsson, a farmer in Rauðseyjar, and his wife Anna Brynjólfsdóttir. They took land in the Swan Lake Settlement (Álftavatnsbyggð) in Manitoba, and it is probable that the mother and daughter went there with them.
