Teitur Teitsson was born in Árnessýsla in 1835. Spouse: Hólmfríður Vernharðsdóttir b. 1837 in Árnessýsla. Children: 1. Sigurður b. 1866 2. Elís b. 1871. They emigrated west to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1873 and settled on Washington Island.  They moved to Manitoba in 1887.
