Þorlákur Pétursson fæddist í Reykjavík 27. nóvember, 1879. Dáinn í Spanish Fork 7. janúar, 1953. Ókvæntur og barnlaus. Hann fór vestur til Utah með móður sinni, Hólmfríði Þorláksdóttur árið 1881. Hann var skírður í Mormónasöfnuði árið 1887 og bjó alla tíð í Spanish Fork.
