Guðmundur Stefánsson was born on September 14, 1881 in N. Múlasýsla. He died in Minnesota on August 15, 1959. Guðmundur came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1893 with his brother Jón and sister Björg. They came to Minnesota where their relatives lived. Guðmundur became a teacher and taught in Minneapolis.
