Jón Gunnlaugsson was born in N. Múlasýsla in 1846. Spouse: Sesselja Sigvaldadóttir b. 1853. Children: information not found They emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876 and traveled to New Iceland. There Jón contracted smallpox and was ill for five weeks. They moved south to Pembina County in N. Dakota and later east to Washington Island, Wisconsin.
