Björn Bjarnason was born in the Geysir settlement in New Iceland on January 16, 1902. He died in Árborg on February 13, 1970.
Unmarried and childless
Björn was the son of Bjarni Bjarnason and Aðalborg Jónsdóttir, early settlers in the Geysir settlement in 1900. He and his twin sister, Margrét Sigurlaug, took care of their father after their mother died in 1915. The siblings lived on their father’s farm until 1963, when they moved to Árborg.
