They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1900 and settled at Big Point the same year. They moved north to Bluff (Reykjavík P.O.) in 1904 and then to Beaver in 1909, just south of Westbourne. They lived on the land until 1946 but then moved in with their son who was a farmer in the same area.
