Guðrún Helgadóttir was born on July 20, 1838 in Skagafjarðarsýsla. She died on April 10, 1924 in the Fljóts settlement in New Iceland.
Spouse: October 26, 1863 Sigurður Guðmundsson b. in Skagafjarðarsýsla on June 11, 1830, d. in the Fljóts settlement on September 3, 1911.
Children: 1. Solveig b. October 29, 1865 2. Helga b. November 15, 1866 3. Magnús b. September 9, 1868 4. Guðrún b. September 21, 1870 5. Marín b. 1880. Helga came west in 1883 while Guðrún came with her parents in 1886.
Sigurður and Guðrún came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1886 and moved to the Ísafold settlement to Stefán Jónsson and his wife, Ingibörg, as they had cared for Helga for many years and Helga had come west with them. Sigurður and Guðrún lived there a few years them moved to the Fljóts settlement.
