Helgi Jónsson was born in N. Múlasýsla on October 11, 1877. He drowned in the Assiniboine River on April 25, 1931.
Unmarried and childless.
He came to the West in 1907 and settled in Saskatchewan. He was a fisherman in Dore Lake. In 1922, he bought a billiards room on Sargent Ave. in Winnipeg from his countryman. He ran it well and it became a kind of gathering place for Icelanders in the neighborhood.
