Ísak Jónsson was born on December 3, 1853 in Mýrasýsla. He died in New Iceland on August 8, 1927.
Spouse: Ingibjörg Benediktsdóttir b. 1858 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla, d. September 17, 1913 in Manitoba. He took the last name Johnson in the west. They never married.
Children: 1. Elísabet Elínborg b. August 29, 1886, d. January 20, 1969. 2. Aðalsteinn Sigurjón (Steini Johnson) b. October 28, 1898, d. April 21, 1987.
Ingibjörg had Elísabet in Iceland with Steini Jónsson. Another daughter of theirs, Steinunn b. 1888 died in Iceland in 1894. Aðalsteinn was Ísak’s son.
Ísak came west with his mother, Sigurlaug Eiríksdóttir and her husband, Þórður Magnússon in 1878 and settled in N. Dakota. In 1901, they moved north to New Iceland and took land in the Framnes settlement.
