They came to the West in 1892 and the family settled in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan. They lived there and in White Sand River until 1898. They then moved to Foam Lake in the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð), but in 1902 Ófeigur purchased land near the village of Leslie. He farmed there.
