Sigurður Guðmundsson was born in Skagafjarðarsýsla on June 11, 1830. He died in the Fljóts settlement on September 3, 1911.
Spouse: October 26, 1863 Guðrún Helgadóttir b. July 20, 1838 in Skagafjarðarsýsla, d. April 10, 1924 in the Fljóts settlement.
Children: 1. Solveig b. October 29, 1865 2. Helga b. November 15, 1866 3. Magnús b. September 9, 1868 4. Guðrún b. September 21, 1870 5. Marín b. 1880. Helga came west in 1883 while Guðrún came with her parents in 1886.
Sigurður and Guðrún came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1886 and moved to the Ísafold settlement to Stefán Jónsson and his wife, Ingibjörg, as they had cared for Helga for many years, and Helga had come west with them. Sigurður and Guðrún were there a few years then settled in the Fljóts settlement.
