Sigurður Jósefsson was born on May 10, 1885 in N. Múlasýsla.
Spouse: 1) Hallfríður Guðmundsdóttir b. in N. Múlasýsla on June 5, 1885, d. February 16, 1915 in Saskatchewan 2) January 24, 1925 Klara (Clara) Jóhannsdóttir b. in Reykjavík on September 7, 1904, d. in Winnipeg on August 14, 1944.
Children: With Hallfríður: 1. Hallfreð Sigurður b. January 14, 1914. With Klara: 1. Margrét Ása b. July 7, 1925 2. Clara b. August 2, 1927.
Sigurður came west to Manitoba in 1905 and worked there for a while in agriculture. He later moved to Saskatchewan where he worked for farmers and then had his own farm in Tantallon for five years. He then moved west to the Pacific Ocean and worked as a cook on transport ships along the coast. Hallfríður came west in 1903, the same year as her father, Guðmundur Sigurðsson, who was then a widower. Klara came west in 1912, with her parents, Jóhann Sigmundsson and Þórdís Sigurðardóttir.
