Þórunn Hallgrímsdóttir was born in Mýrasýsla on October 25, 1868. She died in Manitoba on August 15, 1957.
Spouse: 1891 Guðmundur Magnússon b. in Mýrasýsla on May 27, 1870. He took the last name Borgfjörð.

Guðmundur came west to New Iceland in 1888 while Þórunn had arrived a year earlier with Guðmundur’s brother Þorsteinn. Guðmundur and his brothers, Jón and Þorsteinn, explored land up the Íslendingagflót (Icelandic River) and Þorsteinn took land in the Geysir settlement, but Guðmundur and Jón are considered the first settlers in Framnes-Árdals settlement.
