Sigríður Einarína Sigurðardóttir was born on November 11, 1857 in S. Þingeyjarsýsla. She died on January 28, 1937 in Winnipeg.

They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1888 and moved west to the Þingvalla Settlement in Saskatchewan. A year later, they settled on land in the Argyle Settlement in Manitoba and were successful there. Near the turn of the century, they bought land in the area and built a magnificent house of bluestone, the only house of its kind.
