Elín Guðvaldsdóttir was born in N. Múlasýsla on September 7, 1885.
Spouse: 1903 in Minnesota Haraldur Björnsson b. 1883 in N. Dakota, d. 1934 in Elfros in the Vatnabyggð (Lakes Settlement) in Saskatchewan.
Children: 1. Anna b. September 14, 1904 2. Hróðný b. October 23, 1907.
Elín came west in 1888 with her parents, Guðvaldur Jónsson and Kristín Þorgrímsdóttir, and her siblings. They settled in N. Dakota, moved to Roseau, Minnesota in 1899, and in 1907 moved to the Vatnabyggð (Lakes Settlement) in Saskatchewan. Haraldur’s parents, Björn Einarsson and Jóhanna Jóhannesdóttir, moved to New Iceland in 1876 and lived there until 1880. They moved south to N. Dakota where they lived until the turn of the century, but then they headed east to Roseau where Haraldur and Elín were married. They moved from there to Vatnabyggð (Lakes Settlement) in Saskatchewan.
