Frímann Bjarnason was born on October 17, 1855 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla. He died in Akureyri on November 6, 1936. He took the name Frímann B. Anderson in the west.
Unmarried and childless.
He emigrated west to Ontario in 1874 and settled in Toronto. He lived there ten years before moving west to Winnipeg. There he began publication of Heimskringla, which was first published on September 9, 1886. He was the first editor of the paper, then sold the print shop and publication and moved to the United States at the end of 1888, and from there to Copenhagen. He ended up back in Iceland after living in London and Paris.
