Grímur and Vilhjálmur came west totgether to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1893. Gísli met them there as he had come west in 1888. Stefán Ólafsson, Gísli’s friend, had opened a dairy shop on Toronto Street and had a few cows that Gísli took care of. The new arrivals lived with Gísli, but soon Vilhjálmur got a job with the city. In 1901 Stefán took land in the Lundar Settlement, and Gísli and Grímur went north with them. Grimur lived there until his death.
