Guðjón Finnsson was born in N. Múlasýsla June 13, 1867. He died at the Betel care home in Gimli, Manitoba April 27, 1962.

Guðrún emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba with Grímur and Einar in 1904. Guðjón came with Kristjón a year later. They moved to the Fljóts Settlement and farmed there until 1910 when they moved to the Isafoldar Settlement. They farmed there until 1920, when they moved to Gimli and then to a year later Selkirk. In 1949 they returned to Gimli where they lived the rest of their lives.
