Gunnlaugur Gíslason was born in N. Þingeyjarsýsla on October 22, 1862. He died on October 4, 1954 in Wynyard, Saskatchewan.
Spouse: 1896 Halldóra Jónasdóttir b. February 21, 1877, d. June 16, 1958 in Wynyard.
Children: 1. Guðrún d. 1915 2. Arnþrúður b. January 19, 1899.
Gunnlaugur came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1888 with his father, brother-in-law, and sister. They moved to the Pembina settlement in North Dakota. Gunnlaugur and Halldóra moved in 1903 to the Vallar settlement in Saskatchewan and took land there. They moved to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in 1912 and bought land east of Wynyard. They lived there a long time, but when the years passed, they sold their farm and moved to Wynyard.
