Herdís Kristjánsdóttir was born on November 26, 1896 in S. Þingeyjarsýsla. She died at Betel in Gimli on May 15, 1971.
Spouse: January 12, 1920 Ingvi Sveinn Sveinsson b. in Svold, N. Dakota on August 28, 1892, d. in the Framnes Settlement on May 16, 1971. He had the name Ingvi S. Erickson in the west.

Herdís was the daughter of Kristján Ingjaldsson and Kristjana Árnadóttir at Hallgilsstaðir in S. Þingeyjarsýsla. She lost her mother as a child and was adopted by her maternal uncle, Guðjón, and his wife Ragnheiður Davíðsdóttir. She came west to Manitoba with Ragnheiður in 1909 and they moved to New Iceland. They moved to Winnipeg 2 years later and Herdís attended business school. There she met Ingvi. Ingvi was the son of Sveinn Eiríksson and grew up in the Hallson Settlement in N. Dakota and finished primary school there. He went to Winnipeg and attended business school. Herdís and Ingvi lived in Arborg where Herdís took an active part in the social affairs in the community.
