Hermann Jónsson was born in S. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1888. He died in Vancouver in 1965.
Spouse: 1911 Guðrún Snorradóttir b. in Winnipeg on December 24, 1886, d. in Vancouver on October 12, 1971.
Children: 1. Hallfríður Guðrún 2. Jón Hermann 3. Jóhann Baldur 4. Sigríður Nanna 5. Halli. They also had a foster daughter Kristjana Indriðadóttir Skordal.
Hermann came west with his father and siblings in 1903. He stayed with them the first years, but then took land in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan. Guðrún was the daughter of Snorri Jónsson Reykjalín and Guðrún Davíðsdóttir who came west in 1883. Jóhann Gottfred Þorgeirsson and his wife Hallfríður Jónsdóttir took in Guðrún as a foster child.
