They were farmers in Vestfold in the Shoal Lake Settlement (Grunnavatnsbyggð) where Ingi grew up. He moved from there to Winnipeg and lived there the rest of his life. Fanney was the daughter of Jóhann Magnússon and Ólöf Össurardóttir who came west in 1911.
