Jóhann Pálsson was born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla in 1872. He died in Manitoba in 1904.
Unmarried and childless.
He came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1902 and went to Morden. He decided to go on an exploration with his acquaintances to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan to study land there for settlement. The others in the group were Jónas Tómasson, Jón Egill, and Axel Guðni Ágústsson. They made an agreement with Jón Laxdal in the spring of 1904 for him to secure land for all four of them west of Mozart, and he did so. Jóhann never made it to his land, he died at the end of the year.
