Jóhannes Davíðsson was born in 1870 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla. He died in the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan in 1938.
Spouse: 1898 Jónína Daníelsdóttir b. 1881 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla.
Children: Coming west with them in 1913 was Jóhannes’ 11-year-old niece. Her name was Steinunn Ingibjörg Guðmundsdóttir, born March 16, 1902 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla. She lived with them until adulthood.
They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1900, where they lived for five years. They moved from there to the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan and took land near Foam Lake where they lived for five years, until 1912. They then moved back to Iceland but didn’t like it and returned to Vatnabyggð in Saskatchewan a year later. They lived in the village of Leslie for the next three years, then bought land nearby.
