Jón Einarsson was born August 2, 1860 in Borgarfjarðarsýsla. He died in Winnipeg on October 17, 1947.

Children: 1. Halldóra Ingibjörg b. in New Jersey on November 27, 1893.
Jón and Hallbjörg sailed west to the United States in 1887 and Jón got a job in Seyreville, New Jersey. From there they moved to Manitoba in 1897; the reason may have been Halldóra’s illness which could not stand the moisture on the east coast. The dry air in Manitoba was good for her. Jón took land in the Lundar Settlement and lived there until 1939, then moved to Winnipeg.
