Friðrik came west in 1886 with his parents, Hjálmar Friðriksson and Metta Pálsdóttir, and siblings. Jónína came west in 1903 with her mother Elísabet Arnbjarnardóttir her husband had their children. Friðrik and Jónína first lived near Hallson, N. Dakota, then moved from there in 1910 to Pine Creek, Minnesota. They moved west to the Pacific in 1913 and lived there for some time before returning to live in Manitoba.
