Kristinn was 20 years old when he came west in 1889 and spent the first years with his cousin Joe Freeman in Argyle. He then moved to Garðar, N. Dakota where he worked various jobs in the area.
Kristín came west in 1891. Her parents, Hallgrímur Helgason and Kristbjörg Árnadóttir came west with Kristín’s siblings in 1889.
Kristinn and Kristín moved to the Framnes Settlement in 1901 and settled on their own land there in 1904.
