Kristján Þorláksson was born in S. Þingeyjarsýsla on March 6, 1886. He died at the Betel Care Home in Gimli on May 30, 1960.
Unmarried and childless.
He came west to Manitoba in 1893 with his parents, Þorlákur Jónasson and Kristrún Pétursdóttir. He was there with them in the Argyle Settlement and moved with them in 1909 to Dafoe in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan. He bought land there and lived there until 1938, when he moved to Winnipeg and worked there as a day-laborer.
