They came west in 1874 and spent the first winter in Kinmount, Ontario. They moved to New Iceland in 1875, took land near Gimli and named their farm Fenhring. They moved to Pembina, N. Dakota and lived there for 2 years. In 1902 they moved to the Framnes – Ardals Settlement, bought land and called their farm Skogardal.
