They came west to Ontario in Canada in 1874 and spent the first winter in Kinmount. They moved west a year later to New Iceland and persevered through that winter in Gimli. They moved north to Mikley and lived there until 1883 but then moved to the Fljót Settlement. Sesselja moved south to N. Dakota after Magnús died and was there until 1897 then moved back to New Iceland.
