Svava Ingibjörg Björnsdóttir was born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla in 1859. She died in Winnipeg on June 19, 1945.
Spouse: 1883 Björn Sæmundsson b. in Strandasýsla in 1851, d. May 8, 1944 in Winnipeg. He took the last name Lindal in the west.

Svava came west with her mother, Kristrún Sveinungadóttir, in 1876 and they settled in Winnipeg. Björn came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1878 and lived there from some time. Björn took part in an exploration of an area east of Shoal Lake (Grunnavatn) in 1887 and took land in a rural community called Markland. He and Svava moved there in 1891 and lived there until 1921, when they moved to Winnipeg.
