Sveinn Sveinsson was born in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1870. He died in Kandahar in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in 1933. He took the last name Solvason in the west.
Spouse: Margrét Andrésdóttir. She was the daughter of Andrés Eyjólfsson from S. Múlasýsla and his wife Kristín Árnadóttir from the same sýsla.
Children: 1. Óskar Sveinn 2. Karl Vilhjálmur 3. Sigrún Olga 4. Haraldur Andrés 5. Monika Þorbjörg Lilja 6. Sveinn Þórður.
Sveinn came west with his parents in 1887 to Winnipeg, Manitoba. They moved first to New Iceland and from there in 1890 to Mountain, N. Dakota and later to Selkirk, Manitoba. In 1907, Sveinn and Margrét moved to land in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan in the Kandahar/Dafoe area.
