Jakob Benediktsson fæddist árið 1854 í Húnavatnssýslu. Maki: Anna Sigríður Þorleifsdóttir fl 1828 í Húnavatnssýslu. Barnlaus. Fluttu vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1882 og fóru suður í svokallaða Beaulieubyggð vestur af Hallson í N. Dakota. Þar lést Anna og sneri Jakob þá aftur til Íslands.
