Gísli Gíslason was born in Mýrasýsla in 1852. Spouse: 1882 Björghildur (Borghildur in western sources?) Guðmundsdóttir b. in Mýrasýsla in 1859, d. June 26, 1924. Children: 1. Guðmundur Ólafur b. 1882 2. Þuríður b. 1885. They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1886 and bought land in the Geysir Settlement in 1888. They called the land Gilsbakki.

Halldóra Guðmundsdóttir was born in Mýrasýsla in 1845. Spouse: Jónatan Salómonsson d. in Iceland. Children: 1. Soffía b. July 2, 1872 2. María b. 1892. They had more children. Halldóra was a widow when she emigrated to Winnipeg in 1901 with María. Soffía had moved there with her husband, Hannes S. Blöndal.

Þorgerður Jónsdóttir was born in  Mýrasýsla in 1868. Unmarried and childless. She came west to Winnipeg with Hannes S. Blöndal and his family in 1900.
