Sveinbjörn Tryggvi Sófóníasson was born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla in 1863. Spouse: Snjólaug Runólfsdóttir b. in Eyjafjarðarsýsla in 1863. Children: 1. Margrét Sveinbjarnardóttir b. 1885. They emigrated west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1887 and traveled on to New Iceland. They took land in the Víðirnes Settlement and named the farm Hvarf. They left just before the turn of the century.
